In Dragon Ball FighterZ, the player implants their soul in Frieza. Together with other villains, they battle Android 21 and her clones. After defeating Android 21, everyone’s powers are restored, but Frieza expels the player, and the heroes and villains start fighting each other again.
DEVELOPMENT AND RELEASE
Dragon Ball FighterZ is developed by Arc System Works and marks the company’s fourth time working on the Dragon Ball IP. The game’s producer, Tomoko Hiroki, stated that the game was designed as a three-on-three fighting game to better represent the power differences between characters in Dragon Ball and to make it easier to implement aspects of the Dragon Ball license into the game. She also clarified that there was no intention to emulate the Marvel vs. Capcom series with the gameplay system.
